Psychogenic non-epileptic seizures

Psychogenic non-epileptic seizures are often misdiagnosed as epileptic. They are poorly understood and difficult to treat. Not every seizure, which looks like an epileptic, must result from epileptic cortical activity. This review is focused on the issue of psychogenic non--epileptic seizures (PNES), their history and classification, etiology, diagnostic methods, differential diagnosis as well as treatment options.
