Long-term treatment of bipolar disorder

Long-term treatment BD is the most complicated in treatment BD and may be the year 2009 allegedly called the „bipolar Guidelines Year“. Maintenance treatment after treatment acute fase has been two years minimally and five years in patient with higher risk. Today we have rather guidelines for long-term treatment BD (BAP, TMAP-BDA, NICE, APA, CANMAT) but among the most accepted psychopharmacological treatment (A) belong: lithium, olanzapine, divalproex, quetiapine in monotherapy or in rather combinations with psychosocial intervention (psychoeducation + cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy or interpersonal psychotherapy) in respect of profit and risk for patient.
