Prion disease in a 66-years-old female patient

Prion diseases, also known as transmissible spongiform encephalopathies, are a group of rare neurodegenerative transmissible diseases, always with fatal outcome, characterized by neurological and psychiatric symptoms. The article summarizes briefly the topic of human prion diseases, presents a case report of a Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in a 66 years old female patient.
