The position of cariprazine in combination psychopharmacotherapy

The arrival of cariprazine opened up new possibilities for managing the entire spectrum of schizophrenia symptoms with an acceptable safety profile. It is still a relatively new drug indicated in our country exclusively for the treatment of schizophrenia in adult patients. In the case report, I would like to present a clinical experience with the mentioned drug, but not in monotherapy, as it is common in patients with long-standing mental illnesses. A combination with another antipsychotic and augmentation with a thymostabilizer in low therapeutic doses was used. Of course, there were also other psychotropic drugs in the concomitant medication, but I assume the greatest benefit of the aforementioned triple combination. I also assume that the full potential of the partial dopamine agonist has not yet been used in clinical practice, and that its indication will be extended to the wider field of psychiatry in the near future.
