Pornography as a possible “addiction”

From the historical view, the phenomena of pathological increase of sexual appetite and behavior was first described in the book Psychopathia Sexualis from Kraftt-Eging. The question of hypersexual behavior was strongly discussed in the research of both sexes. This theoretical struggle dominated in academic community for a long time. Nevertheless, the hypersexuality connected with addiction behavior was also seen as impulse control disorders, or as form obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Satisfaction of sexual appetite related with the increase of sexual appetite. People do that by two ways. The first is primary – sexual intercourse and the second one are external stimulus, they are mediated with sexual explicit materials (audio-video, audio recording, text or photography). Pornography consumption related with question, if consumption pornography can cause pornography “addiction”.
