REM-related parasomnias
Parasomnias are characterised as adverse motor symptoms or sensations that occur while falling asleep, sleeping or waking up. Parasomnias may occur during NREM or REM sleep, they can be combined and often associated with the other sleep disorders. They can lead to disruption of a continuity of a sleep, injury of a patient or bed-partner with negative psychosocial consequences.
