Mental retardation from view of point of disability

The article gives information about valid legislation, defines basic terms – disability and invalidity retirement, long-term poor health state, decrease rate and ability to practice paid activity. Because people with mental retardation with long-term poor health state drawing claims to an invalidity pension often do not fulfill condition of needed period of insurance – i.e. requirement of the number of years of work, there was introduced a special category of disability – a disability from youth. Qualifying the disability takes place in cooperation with psychiatrist, psychologist, general practioner and medical examiner.
