Clozapine and amisulprid combination in treating of pharmaco-resistant schizophrenia

Currently clozapine is one of the most effective antipsychotic drugs in treating of pharmacoresistant schizophrenia. However, 1/3 to 2/3 of patients will have persistent positive symptoms despite adequate doses and duration of clozapine monotherapy. During persisting positive symptoms in spite of treatment with clozapine goes back when combined with the 2nd generation antipsychotics. Some antipsychotics have been selected as an adjuvant, such as aripiprazole, risperidone and amisulpiride. The present case report discloses a combination of clozapine and amisulpride with pharmacoresistant schizophrenia slightly responsive to clozapine monotherapy that turned out as an effective and without significant side effects.
