Gender differences in the clinical picture of depression

Article reviews present knowledge and attitudes to the topic of gender differences in the clinical presentation of depression. It describes, what is today known about the specifics of symptomatology, severity, course characteristics, suicidality and comorbidity of depression in women in general and in different types of depression. At last it gives some recommendations what are the areas of concern in evaluation of depression in women.
