Pharmacotherapy of borderline personality disorders in practice

Psychotherapeutic care in patients suffering from borderline personality disorder (BPD) is indicated in the first place. Pharmacotherapy is considered as adjuvant and often controversial way of treatment. The aim of the retrospective study is to report the pharmacological approach in Olomouc and to comapre it with guidlines for BPD treatment. Patients with borderline personality disorder treated in 2011 on department of psychiatry was included. Medication did not differ from the majority of best practices. But with a lack of strong evidence about its effect, it seems appropriate to move towards its reduction.
