Diagnostic evaluation and contemporary psychiatric practice

Explicit diagnostic protocols, resulting from the current knowledge of psychiatry, are mainly of pragmatic value. Diagnostic evaluation should not be reduced merely to a simple, clearly formulated or defined process. The diagnostic evaluation, including the diagnosis of clinico-pathological syndromes and valid diagnostic categories, is given in this article. This approach allows a more natural follow-up of the evolution and dynamics of psychiatric disorders.
