ADHD in adults – myth of modern psychiatry or reality of 21st century?
Nowadays, ADHD represents diagnosis not only in childhood but also in adulthood. Due to the complexity of ADHD a new definition has been coined. The diagnosis and treatment of this disorder are complicated, however, it has been shown that correct treatment helps the integration of these individuals into society, work, amongst friends and family. The article reviewed diagnostic procedure, the course of the disease, treatment, and social consequences. The case reports in this paper have helped in the confirmation of these findings.
