Effect of obesity on morbidity
Obesity is one of the most serious public health problems of the 21st century. Obesity is responsible for 10–13 % of deaths, reduces life expectancy by about 6–7 years, and causes chronic diseases whose treatment „eats up” about 6 % of health budget in Europe, including not only cardiometabolic diseases, locomotor system diseases, respiratory system diseases, but also cancer diseases.
