The efficacy of food supplements on cognitive functions: findings of epidemiological and clinical studies
The aim of this paper is to provide information about efficacy of food supplements on cognitive functions in humans to professionals of public health. Omega 3 unsaturated fatty acids, ginkgo biloba, vitamins B12, folic acid and vitamin E have been subjects of investigation of many epidemiological and clinical studies, which give new findings about effects of mentioned substances on cognitive functions in physiological ageing, mild cognitive impairment, organic brain damages, and in various stages of Alzheimer´s dementia
