Probiotics, prebiotics, fecal microbiota therapy and inflammatory bowel disease
Nowadays, the probiotics are coming to the fore. Their convenient use has been described in various types of diseases. That leads to constantly increasing number of such products – especially dietary supplements – in pharmacies. This thesis is focused on the use of probiotics and prebiotics in treatment of non specific inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohn´s disease, ulcerative colitis, pouchitis, as well as on the specific probiotic strains which have been studied in this area.
