Contribution of the pharmacist in the prevention and treatment of certain risk factors for cardiovascular disease

The increasing incidence of cardiovascular diseases requires a constant public attention. Through pharmacies providing examination, there support for prevention and early detection of risk factors that are involved in the development of cardiovascular diseases. Contribution of the pharmacist is in educating the client about risk factors and about recommendation of regime measures and option to encourage their observance through screening. Pharmacist has space to provide non-pharmacological interventions and also recommend foods and nutritional supplements that promote health or help reduce the risk of disease. On results of consultation and examinations identified at the customer in the pharmacy, client is to monitored continues or immediately is shifted to a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment.
