Pharmacotherapy in the elderly in the context of medical and nursing care

Pharmacotherapy in old age is most influenced by old-age and disease changes in the body. The biggest problem in old age is multimorbidity, which has a negative effect on the elimination of drugs, the emergence of side effects and their recognition. All of these facts should be taken into account when taking medicines by the elderly. The effect of adverse factors on the individual is pathological aging. Such a factor is most often a disease. Nowadays, with the coming years, the incidence of cardiovascular diseases, tumors, neurological and lung diseases is increasing. Based on this fact, the demands for specific pharmacotherapy and related problems are also increasing.
