Congenital long QT syndrome

Congenital long QT syndrome (LQTS) is the most prevalent primary cardiac arrhythmia syndrome. Typical presentation includes prolonged QT interval on electrocardiogram, which can be in some individuals associated with malignant ventricular arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. This article emphasizes the importance of setting up an early diagnosis of LQTS as a tool for primary prevention of sudden cardiac death.
