Sublingual allergen immunotherapy in the specific treatment of allergy
Specific allergen immunotherapy is a therapeutic procedure in which is in the allergic body served gradually increasing doses of the causal allergen. Allergen-specific immunotherapy induces the formation of clinical and immunological tolerance, the long-term therapeutic effect and can result in prevention of allergic disease progression and improve quality of life of allergic patients. One of the forms of specific alergen immunotherapy is also sublingual pills form of treatment. The aim of this paper is to highlight the benefits and clinical effect of this treatment.
