Primary nocturnal enuresis
Nocturnal enuresis is defined as involuntary urination during sleep, which occurs at least twice a week in children older than 5 years, for a duration of at least 3 months. Primary enuresis occurs in children, who were not dry for a minimum of 6 months. Secondary enuresis starts after time of staying dry, so at least after 6 months. Enuresis is considered to be a multifactor unit with a strong genetic component. A contribution in diagnosis and its following, is a family and a personal history, as well as information from voiding and fluid intake diary. Treatment should start before enrollment to the first grade.
