Dog bite injuries in children. Occurrence, risk factors, treatment and prevention
The authors present the occurrence of dog bites in children in this paper, based on the materials available in the neighbouring and distant countries where the statistical evaluation of individual accidents is required and controlled. The risk factors leading to the potential threat of children by their own dogs are emphasized here, as well as the summarisation of current views on the local and antibiotic treatment. In the prevention and the conclusion, the emphasis is put on the multifactorial approach to the preventing dog bites in children.
