Childhood vaccination before traveling abroad
While the number of children traveling to distance destinations is increasing, pediatricians are increasingly consulted by parents about how to protect their children against infectious diseases. One of the ways how to reduce the risk of injury while travelling is vaccination. The author presents a list of infectious diseases and vaccines that are currently available in the Slovak Republic. These are divided into two groups. The first contains vaccines that are intended for supplementary vaccination of children, the other is called „traveler vaccines“. “Traveler vaccines” should be discussed and applied at dedicated places dealing with tropical diseases and travel medicine.
