Nosocomial rotavirus infection on neonatal ward
This case report describes course of nosocomial epidemic rotavirus infection (RVI) on neonatologic part of paediatric department, in the region with high proportional representation social weak population, also gipsy settlements. In 4-month period of time 58 (19 %) from total of 308 newborns had confirmed nosocomial rotavirus infecion, 2/3 of them were serious cases. There were 11 newborns admitted on the paediatric ward with the diagnose of RVI at the time beeing. They were discharged from neonatologic ward with no problems and until 3 days after that occured symptoms of RVI. Clinical status all of them was severe.
