New recommendations for complementary feeding in infants

Authors summarize new aspects of complementary feeding in healthy infants; put the accent on significance of useful nutrients and the timing of their introduction. New recommendations were formulated by European Society of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) and published in 2008. They are based on knowledge of infant physiology, development and maturation of organs and their functions.
