NEW PAEDIATRIC INDICATIONS FOR GROWTH HORMONE THERAPY IN CZECH REPUBLIC
The current paediatric indications for growth hormone therapy in the Czech Republic include (growth hormone deficiency since 70thies years of 20ies century), Turner syndrome (since 1992), growth failure in subjects with chronic renal insufficiency (since 1995), Prader-Willi syndrome (since 2001) and postnatal growth failure following the intrauterine growth retardation (since 2003). As for January 1st, 2006, 922 children have been treated in 13 centres. Of these, growth hormone deficiency was proved in 537, Turner syndrome in 159 girls, chronic renal insufficiency in 28 children, Prader-Willi syndrome in 35 and postnatal growth failure following the intrauterine growth retardation in 163.
