Tumors of the central nervous system in children
Tumors of the central nervous system constitue the second most common pediatric cancer, comprising approximately 25% of childhood cancer and remain the second leading cause of death in pediatric oncology. It is a very heterogeneous group of diseases, in terms of location, histology, biological behavior and clinical course. The optimal treatment of CNS tumors is a typical example of a multidisciplinary approach. The aim of treatment is to cure the child with acceptable toxicity.
