The options of postexposure vaccination

Because not all suceptible people receive vaccines before exposure, active imunization may be considered for a person who has been exposed to a specific disease. The most commonly encountered postexposure immunization are in prophylaxis rabies, tetanus, hepatitis A and B, morbilli, varicella, rarely other diseases. Immunoglobulin preparations may be indicated as part of postexposure prophylaxis for exposure to hepatitis A, hepatitis B, measles, rabies, tetanus and varicella.
