Complication of rotavirus infection of infant of low socio-economic standard
Autors present a case a 7-month old boy coming from bad social conditions. The child was admitted with severe dehydratation, hypovolemic shock and renal insuficiency. Antigen of rotavirus was confirmed from stool. A cultivation of stool was positive to Salmonella typhimurium. We consider rotavirus was responsible for severe course of gastroenteritis because of sudden beginning, character of stool and low inflammatory parameters in the beginning of infection. The complications as otitis and bronchopneumonia appeared.
