Gynecological tumors in children and adolescent girls
Gynecological tumors in childhood and adolescence account for about 2 – 5 % of all tumors that occur at this age. Compared to adults, the representation of individual gynecological organs that are affected by the tumor process is also different. While in adult tumors of the cervix and corpus uteri are moderately represented, in children we encounter these tumors in a minimally moderate amount – it can be said that they are at the level of case reports. Almost 95 % of all gynecological tumors in children are ovarian tumors. Compared to adults, gynecological tumors in children and adolescents differ not only in frequency of occurrence, but also in pathological anatomy, clinical symptoms and method of therapy. The aim of this article is to describe the basic characteristics of benign or malignant tumors, their clinical manifestation, diagnostic and treatment methods, by individual gynecological organs.
