Enteral nutrition with a feeding tube in children
The purpose of this research article is to provide comprehensive information regarding enteral nutrition applied through a feeding tube into different parts of the gastrointestinal tract in children. The use of enteral nutrition has become more prominent in Slovakia during the last two decades. The pharmaceutically formulated nutrition varies in the chemicals used, nutritional value, osmolality, or specific purpose for different diseases or age groups. A precondition for a successful application of enteral nutrition is a functional gastrointestinal tract as this is where the nutrition is applied.
