Photosensitivity in children

Photosensitivity in pediatric population is much less prevalent then in adults. Every unexpected reaction to sun exposure should be thoroughly investigated for it can be manifestation of serious systemic disease. Early diagnosis can lower risks of future complications, comorbidities and decreased quality of life or life expectancy. Mainstay of management is careful fotoprotection and specific treatment, if available.
