Odontogenic orofacial infections in childhood
Odontogenic inflammation is an infectious disease, that in children is usually associated with untreated dental caries. Tooth decay is one of the most common disorders, affecting dental hard tissues of primary as well as permanent teeth. Every child with odontogenic infection should be treated in time by dentist or maxillofacial surgeon, to avoid serious health and life-threatening complications. The authors present the current knowledge of etiopathogenesis, clinical signs and management of children patients with odontogenic infection which is caused mainly by decayed milk teeth.
