Dehydration – life threathening situation in paediatrics. Case reports

Dehydration is still very actual problem and can result in a life threathening situation with catastrophic consequences. The most common cause of acute renal insufficiency (ARI) in child age are prerenal causes – excessive losts of liquids or insufficient, eventually non intake. Rotavirus is the cause of acute gastroenteritis in young children, with highest incidence in age of 6 – 24 months. There is no specific treatment of rotavirus infections. Vaccination is the only efficient way how to decrease the burden of rotavirus infections.
