MISTAKES IN THE ANTIBIOTIC TREATMENT IN CHILDREN IN A PRIMARY CARE

Author reminds the most frequent mistakes in the antibiotic treatment in children in a primary care. Above all: treatment of signs as a cough, treatment of viral infections, inadequate choice of antibiotic on a certain infection, ignoring an epidemiological situation and a resistance of bacteria to antibiotics in a given community, inappropriately low doses of aminopenicillins, wasting with cephalosporins and overstating so called penicillin “allergies”.

Keywords: antibiotic treatment in children, primary care, mistakes, importance of CRP examination.
