Anthropometry and it use in surgery of craniosynostosis
Review reports of the use of craniofacial anthropometry in patients with premature fusion of one or more sutures. Anthropometric datas are evaluated in the preoperative and early postoperative period with further regular follow up. The study discusses specific pathologies in head shape and cranial growth in craniosynostotic patient. It also deals with use of anthropometry in the differential diagnosis (position plagiocephaly and others). Multidisciplinary cooperation and early identification of potential craniosynostosis in paediatric patients is mandatory.
