Anti-infectives therapy in children with macrolides, azalides, ketolides and streptogramines

The basis of anti-infectives is targeted antibiotic therapy, indicated for the proposed and later confirmed etiology. Selection of the appropriate and effective treatment depends on many factors, among others, the patient's age and state of their immune system. The right choice of therapy reduces the rate of resistance. This article reviews factors important in the selection od macrolide therapy in infants and children.
