Self-care and subjective perception of chronic vertebrogenic pain
In this article we look at the nature of self-care in chronic vertebrogenic pain. We try to clarify physical and psychological form of self-care, also understand the subjective perception of pain. We use our own Questionnaire self-regulation in self-care (1) and Czech translation of the Revised illness perception questionnaire (2). The sample consisted of 42 people with vertebronic pain (16 men, 16 women, mean age 46.09). The results showed that patients with pain prefer physical and psychological self care. Psychological self-care in form of personal development and emotion control dominate. The findings also suggest that when patients better understand their pain, then they less prefer healthy died self-care (r = -0.335, p < 0.05).
