Differences between acute and chronic pain in regard to diagnostic and therapy

In the article the author analyses basic differences and similarities between acute and chronic non-tumorous pain. There is different meaning of them to the life of patient and also different approach of the physician to diagnostic and therapy regarding novel approach to treatment of chronic pain syndromes. Special attention is paid to prevention of chronic pain origin. Theoretical knowledge is explained by clinical cases and completed by guidelines for clinical practice.
