Possibilities of prevention and treatment of chronic low back pain
Low back pain (LBP), the origin of which is in the spine and adjacent structures, is one of the most common types of pain people experience. It is associated with illnesses ranging from the simplest conditions to those that are life-threatening. Chronic LBP has become an important and very complicated disease and is a serious medical, social and economic problem for individual patients as well as for the society as a whole. Both treatment and prevention are very important. Prevention of the development of chronic LBP is crucial and it is necessary to investigate all possible sources of its origin. Treatment using only a single method is mostly impossible. The management of chronic LBP is almost always very complicated and it is necessary to use all available standard, non-invasive (mainly drugs) and invasive (mainly surgical and algesiological) approaches. Moreover, analgesic neuromodulation techniques were established in the Czech Republic ten years ago.
