Ketamin in pain treatment

Ketamin as a non-competitive inhibitor of NMDA receptors also binds to many different receptors in the central and peripheral nervous system. Ketamin preserves sympathetic reflexes, reduces central sensibilisation and tolerance to opioids. Therefore it has widely use not only in anaesthesiologic practice, but also in acute and chronic pain treatment.
