Changes of bone mineral density in patients with testicular cancer
The long term survival of patients with testicular cancer gives rise to a late complication. One of them is decreasing of bone mineral density and development of osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is associated with high risk of developing pathological fractures, which influence quality of life and increase mortality. It is therefore appropriate to investigate the bone mineral density in this group of patients and when needed to use antiresorptive drugs with supplementation of calcium and vitamin D.
