The use of immunotherapy in pediatric oncology
Currently the most children with cancer can be cured with standard treatment (chemotherapy, radiotherapy). The only limiting factor is its severe acute toxicity and late adverse events. Advances in understanding of tumor biology and new technologies have led to the rapid development of immunotherapy in oncology. In pediatric oncology immunotherapy has some delay, but the initial clinical trials with immunotherapy shows a good tolerance and promising results. Further clinical studies with immunotherapy as a part of standard treatment are needed.
