Toracoscopic sublobary anatomic resections for secundary malignancies

Lobectomy is the standard treatment for operable NSCLC. As a result of increasing discovery of small-sized lung cancer or GGO in clinical practice, tumor size has come to be considered an important variable affecting planning of treatment. Recent studies have suggested that segmentectomy may be an acceptable alternative treatment to lobectomy for surgical management of smaller lung carcinomas. Thoracic Surgery Dpt has introduced the tehnique of anatomical segmentectomy couple years ago in patients with secundary malignancies, benign tumours and in patients with impaired lung function. I tis still not accepted as a standard procedure in lung cancer and we would like to start debate this topic.
