TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT IN RADIATION THERAPY
Modern radiation therapy is going through a very interesting phase as new technologies are being developed and becoming available for clinical use. Brief overlook of some mainstream technology developments is presented. Six example technologies with some historical background are presented: three dimensional conformal radiotherapy, intensity modulated radiotherapy, gating and image guided radiotherapy, brachytherapy and charged particle therapy.
