CURRENT ALTERNATIVES FOR SECOND LINE CHEMOTHERAPY OF RECURRENT CIS-PLATIN REFRACTORY EPITHELIAL OVARIAN CANCER
Epithelial ovarian cancer is usually chemo-sensitive with successful response to first line chemotherapy, which is considered to be carboplatin/ paclitaxel doublet. However disease relapse is almost inevitable and due to emergence of resistant cells, treatment with curative intent is no more feasible. Nevertheless, the use of second line chemotherapy for paliative treatment with a choice of several antineoplastic drugs listed below is (undoubtedly/byeond doubt) important. chemotherapy with single agent is treatment of choice in platinum resistant disease although future chance of response to cytotoxic agent is modest.
