Intermediate hepatocellular carcinoma – current treatment options
Hepatocellular carcinoma is the fourth most prevalent cancer worldwide and the third most common cause with cancer related death. It is formed especially in the area of the cirrhosis. That is why the prognosis of the patients is influenced not only by the cancer but also by the level of the cirrhosis development. The intention of the article is to discuss therapeutic possibilities by intermediate hepatocellular carcinoma and to point out the heterogeneity of this patient group. The heterogeneity of this patient group is the reason for not always clear healing algorithm connected with the necessity of individual treatment by each patient.
