CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM INVOLVEMENT IN HEMATOLOGICAL MALIGNANCIES
Hematopoietic neoplasms frequently complicate neurologic involvement, including meningeal and brain infiltration, and spinal cord compression. Appropriate diagnostic measures open way to successful management of these complications. Therapy main stones are cytotoxic chemotherpy, local radiotherapy and decompressive laminectomy. Important role have preventive measures in selected diseases. They have become standard part of modern treatment protocols of diseases at neurological complication risk. Many patients with hematopoietic malignancies have long term survival with appropriate therapy without functional defect, despite their disease presented with neurologic complication.
