The role of immuotherapy in the treatment of colorectal cancer
Immunotherapy brings new possibilities in treatment of cancer. At present, it has a firm place in GI malignancies. We have already seen results of several registration studies in upper GI tumors. Immunotherapy in colorectal cancer has brought remarkable results in small subset of patients with mismatch-repair-deficient mutations or microsatellite instability in their tumors (dMMR/MSI-H). This article reviews results of most important studies with immunotherapy in colorectal cancer.
