View of the cancer patient with cachexia syndrome
85 % of cancer patients is dealing with malnutrition during their disease (4). Often the reason for it is the syndrome of anorexia/cachexia, which is characterised by the change of metabolism where catabolic processes dominate compared to overcomming anabolic processes in healthy human organism.In the article we discuss pathophysiologic mechanismes, which are causes of dominate catabolism and its concequences for human organism. In final section we consider therapeutic possibilities.
