Perioperative treatment of non-urothelial carcinomas and the variants of urothelial bladder carcinoma
This review is focused on the perioperative therapy (neoadjuvant treatment – radical cystectomy – adjuvant treatment) of non-urothelial carcinomas including squamous cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, which represent up to 10% of all epithelial malignant tumors of the bladder, and selected variants of urothelial carcinoma (squamous cell variant, glandular variant, plasmacytoid variant and micropapillary variant).
